Minna Technologies and SpareBank 1 successfully launches subscription management in record time

Minna Technologies went live with Norway’s second-largest bank – SpareBank 1 earlier this year and the service has been rolled out in stages during the last couple of months. Easy cancellation of unwanted subscriptions has been a big hit with the Norwegian bank customers.

Minna Technologies signed the partnership with Norwegian SpareBank 1 on the 25th of October and went live on the 23rd of January.

The success of this project is proof that Norwegian bank customers find the service really valuable. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with SpareBank 1 and in many instances it resembled working with another team at Minna or another startup, says Anne-Sofie Sandager Strategic Account Manager at Minna Technologies.

Successful API integration

The integration between Minna Technologies and SpareBank 1 makes it possible for SpareBank 1’s customers to cancel unwanted subscriptions directly from the transaction overview in their mobile bank.

Our main focus is to help our customers understand their financial situation by providing them with tools and advice to improve their overview, and make it easy for them to take action. Subscription management fit well into this ambition, and through extensive customer insight we decided to give our customers this sought-after feature, says Christian Fjestad Head of Innovation at SpareBank 1 Østlandet.

The feature has been well received with high adoption rates and has successfully been rolled out in stages to all the 14 banks in the SpareBank 1 Alliance during the last couple of months. During this time, SpareBank 1’s customers have made more than 12 000 cancellations and saved an estimated 13,3 million NOK annually.

Record fast implementation

Implementing Minna’s subscription management solution in record time was possible due to a well defined MVP and both teams working agile and fast. This meant that development could be done faster and features were released on a day-to-day basis.

The process of implementing Minna’s solution was made easy by bringing all relevant people together, working on finding the best solution from day one. We all had the mindset that we wanted to deliver customer value as soon as possible, says Thomas Allan Nygaard, Product Owner Digital banking at SpareBank 1 Utvikling.

After a successful launch Minna Technologies and SpareBank 1 are now working on the next stage with improved and additional functionality. Both parties see a lot of opportunities to co-innovate together and bring power to SpareBank 1’s customers.
